Lewis Hamilton was penalised for cutting the chicane and gaining advantage over Ferrari driver and defending champion Kimi Raikonnen. As a result, he is stripped of the title which is handed over to Massa who followed Hamilton to finish second at the Belgium Grand Prix. The thrilling late duel with Kimi gave Hamilton the advantage thereby winning the race. In meantime, Raikonnen crashed into the barrier and left disappointed.
